Tim Sales investigates: Do most people fail at network marketing? How can MLM’s get away with claiming that everyone can succeed? Learn what you need to know before you consider joining an MLM company.
@sam4san, @tjhombs – I too am a software engineer, and a world class one, working for enterprise level clients… And I don’t even have my highschool degree… Success isn’t always about training.
@tjhombs When I first took a look at network marketing, I felt that EVERYONE has the potential to succeed at it. Over time I realized that there are just some people that are not looking to have anything more than a JOB. When someone shares their passion about a movie, dinner, golf, etc., I wa naive to think that if they can talk about those things with such passion, they can do this. The wrong approach WAS taken but, no longer. Many of us “mlm-ers” have learned a better a better way.
You can be successful in MLM if you are a part of a great team and have a solid support system.
We contacted the people at juiceberg..they have a GREAT team, solid support system, and we are now being successful in MLM!
MLM’s versus golf? I will dust my clubs off, call a couple of friends and head out to the club. We will bat the ball around, have a few beers, laugh, and enjoy every minute. Very few people take up golf thinking they will git rich at it. They do it for fun. You could say the same thing about boating, kite flying, tennis, etc. Not the same as evaluating a career choice or investments. Tim is inspirational in a generic sense, but did not make the case for the nuances of MLM’s. Tiger Woods??
This was an excellent video! Thank you so much for posting this video Tim. I really liked the analogy used with the golfing experience you had. The fact is, if you don’t try at something, you will fail, no matter what it is. I see more people start and quit MLM businesses so quickly because they think it is an easy, get rich quick fix and find out it isn’t. It is a business and if treated as such, there are no limits to the income that can be earned.
Your video inspired me just like Tiger woods inspired you. I have a lot of negativity coming towards me but im ready to prove people wrong! I found a MLM that deals with all kinds of sports. Its very inspiring. If any viewers would like to also be inspired by it, they can check out . Thanks for the motivation!
What the hell kind of products/services are you guys selling? That’s what really determines whether or not you’ll be successful…It’s simply based off the demand of what you’re offering to the public. Otherwise you just have to make sure you’re higher up the ladder to remain safe and to do that you have to start in the early stages of moving the product/service so you’ll have the most clients and people working under you.
Yes, there are some good news and some bad news for people who want to become successful in network marketing.
The bad news is that you need to learn skills how to do your business right and for the most of trainings you need to pay, but…
the good news is that some people figured out a way how to get trained and learn all the skills for free.
Great video Tim,
You laid it out there man.
It took me four years to build up my skill set as a Xerox technician.
To learn a trade usually takes 4 years.
Why should this industry be any different?
The difference is this: in a regular job – even if the company loses money or even if you get fired – you might lose your job, but you can’t lose money since you didn’t invest any money. As a regular employee you can’t lose any money you only GET money. However if you fail at MLM it usually means you really LOST money. You put money in and didn’t get it back. And that’s by DESIGN. Why can you make so much money at MLM? Where does most of the money come from? From the ones who lost money.
The FTC warns “Not all multilevel marketing plans are legitimate. Some are pyramid schemes. It’s best not to get involved in plans where the money you make is based primarily on the number of distributors you recruit and your sales to them, rather than on your sales to people outside the plan who intend to use the products”
So, basically FTC states that income based mainly on residual flow is a lie. And since, that is the essence of all MLM; otherwise it would just be any other sales job

Success in MLMs is a result of being on the top and getting a bunch of morons to pay for your “tapes” and “sample products.”
